hey what is up guys welcome back it’s Francis Melkor in the house I know in this channel I said that I would create videos on physical spiritual and emotional health body mind and spirit and a lot of people have asked me well you haven’t created videos on physical health so I’m talking taking that opportunity right now a lot of people have asked me what is intermittent fasting the concept of intermittent fasting suggests that you skip one to two meals in a row in order for your body to tap into your stored body fat for storage which gives you more metabolic flexibility medibot metabolic
efficiency and it up regulates your enzyme systems to build more mitochondria where body fat is burnt people also ask me a lot well how many hours is intermittent fasting I started doing intermittent fasting about 2 to 3 years ago and I started 16 hours work I would not eat anything other than drink water and electrolytes of course not the Gatorade kind but the one that uses stevia like Ultima and I would just drink that and no food for 16 hours and then I got used to it my body became more metabolically flexible so I increased to 20 hours and now I do 24 hours fasting I do it almost every day and it really feels amazing and it feels great people also ask me what are the
advantages of intermittent fasting I’m not gonna talk in this video about the spiritual advantages of intermittent fasting as you all know Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights but I’ve discovered some of the advantages of intermittent fasting is that you get metabolically flexible what that means is that after sleeping for six seven eight hours and then you get up and you’re able to go through the day without feeling hungry and by being able to work out and getting more things done
being more efficient without the fasting affecting your moodwithout it affecting your muscle mass
and you actually get more things doneand you don’t have to interrupt whatyou’re doing I’m sharing this because before I could never fast I was one of those kids where I had to eat six toeight meals a day and I hated it because I had to do that because I hadgastrointestinal problems but once I got
into changing my diet which is another topic that I talk about in a different video I am doing a modified ketogenic diet which consists mainly of 7% good source of fat and 5% carbohydrates and
20 25 % a protein people also ask me when do you know when you’re ready for fasting that is a very good question when you’re able to sleep 7 6 7 8 hours and you wake up in the morning and you’re not hungry and you’re not angry and you’re able to workout you’re able to go through today 10 more hours 11 12 more hours up to 20 to 24 hours total including your sleep then that means your body has adapted and it’s more metabolically flexible and that’s usually a sign that you can do intermittent fasting now if you have some physical problems or illnesses I am not a doctor I am health coach certified but you might want to talk to your physician or doctor before you consider intermittent fasting once again thank you guys for listening remember it’s always body mind and spirit when your
