KETO RECIPE SHARE – ITALIAN BEEF WITH CABBAGE NOODLES
Hello dear friends, and happy 2019! Another year means lots of possibilities, so get out there and do what makes you happy!
If you are currently following a Keto menu plan or are looking to start, here is a recipe share you may enjoy.
Set out below, recipe for Beef with cabbage noodles & the nutritional values set out below:-
(makes 4 servings)
Hamburger or ground beef, 85% lean (I used 454g veal and pork mince)
(454g or 16oz)
Prepared bottled Sauce or home made (as I did)
(340g) I used 400g
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
(14g or 0.48oz)
2 cloves crushed
(2g or 0.06oz)
(2g or 0.06oz) This is not part of original recipe I add cause I like heat!
(1g or 0.02oz)
Cabbage, green, raw
3 cups chopped
(267g or 9.42oz)
1 level tablespoon (only if you wish)
1. Heat olive oil in a large pan or pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground beef (or meat of choice), breaking it up with a spatula or spoon.
2. While the beef is cooking, slice and weigh out required cabbage, slice it into even as possible noodles
3. Add the garlic, salt, Italian seasoning and basil (and chili) to the meat. Once it is about halfway to being fully cooked, add in the jar or can of sauce. Bring to boil reduce heat and let simmer. (taste and adjust seasoning if required)
4. Add the shredded cabbage to the beef and toss gently. Once the cabbage is coated with sauce and beef mixture, reduce heat cover and simmer till the cabbage has wilted. Check and then allow to simmer a further 7-10 minutes or until you are happy with the way the cabbage is cooked.
5. If the cabbage lends too much liquid, remove lid and allow liquid to evaporate before serving.
6. Add a small amount of parmesan cheese on top and serve. (only if you desire as it is not part of the original recipe)
