Hello my fat adapted family! Here’s MY guide to foods you can eat when in ketosis.

Today’s topic is vegetables.

I just want to clarify that these are MY opinions as someone who has been in ketosis for quite a few years now. You may not agree with my guides and that’s okay. This may not be the guide for you. At the end of the day, it’s your keto journey/diet/lifestyle, I’m just putting my 2 cents in here to try and help some people with the information I promote.

SUMMARY:

All calculations are for 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of said vegetable. These calculations can vary depending on brand, type etc.

– Don’t eat a vegetable if you don’t like it! Find the ones you like and eat them – Don’t make keto a punishment.

– There is so such thing as a broccoflower!?!? Which is a breed of cauliflower and broccoli – I NEED IT!

– Portions will really make or break the carbs you eat. You’re more likely to eat 100g of potato in 1 sitting than having 100g of tomatoes. Hence why potatoes is something I’ve put in the red list but tomatoes are not.

– Most, peas, legumes and vegetables that grow below ground and what I consider off limits (or ones you should avoid more often than not)

– The greener and leafier the vegetable, the more you can eat. Like spinach, collard, lettuce etc.

– Check carbs in vegetable pastes and sauces. You don’t know what they’ve put in the bottle/tube.

(My favourite vegetable is broccoli and I actually prefer to eat it raw!)
