Keto Guide – Macronutrients & Nutritional Labels.

Hello my fat adapted family! Here’s MY guide to ketosis.

Today’s topic is macronutrients and nutritional labels.

I just want to clarify that these are MY opinions (and my research) as someone who has been in ketosis for quite a few years now. You may not agree with my guides and that’s okay. This may not be the guide for you. At the end of the day, it’s your keto journey/diet/lifestyle, I’m just putting my 2 cents in here to try and help some people with the information I promote.

– Calories unit of measurement we use to measure energy in foods are drinks. EVERYTHING we do (running, breathing, thinking etc) requires energy.

– People in keto will say they don’t count calories. If they actively count their macros… They’re counting their calories BECAUSE every macro comes from a base calorie level.
These being:
1g Carbs = 4 calories
1g Protein = 4 calories
1g Fat = 9 calories

– Macronutrients aka macros are fats, proteins and carbs measured via their energy (their calories).

– We need essential fats (fatty acids) and proteins (amino acids) but there is no such thing as an essential carb.

– You need to calculate your own macros to get the best results.
https://www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/ – (Watch the video (5:06) to see me calculate my macros and run you through my tips for newcomers)

– Important note: I suggest you say below a maximum of 30g of carbs if you want to get into and stay ketosis. Though, I suggest 20-25g.

– You will need to read the nutritional labels on pretty much every food and drink in the shop until you learn the gists of things.

– 9:50 – WATCH FROM HERE to understand how I read a nutritional label and what it all means.

Can I make your own month long meal plan?
I can, but unfortunately, I would have to charge a fee because it takes quite a bit of time out of my week making one that is tailored to your macros, where you live (for food brands) and your dietary needs.

That’s pretty much it!

Leave me a comment below if you have ANY questions or keto queries.

Keep calm, keto on!
