There’s potential issues with alcohol. First, there’s the calories, which have to be burnt before the ones stored in my body fat. More importantly, given that Type 2 diabetes is largely a liver disorder, it seems very contrary to be trying to heal my liver while pouring booze into it. Significantly for me is my past experience, knowing that the lowering of inhibitions and “munchies” can strike makes it seem risky. I don’t consider alcohol a “hard” no like I do carbs, but it is currently a “soft” no for me; my best low carb alcoholic drink is none.
